Shillong, November 19 (PTI): Eighteen teachers from Thailand today were awarded with certificates after undergoing a rigorous training in English and personal development skills in the city. Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma conferred the awards.
The participants were trained in various courses which were designed on subjects of Behavioral & Personality Development, Communication Skills, Business Skills and Customer Service Skills. The teachers of St Gabriel Foundation, Thailand were imparted a two months' training by Beaconville Training Academy in collaboration with the English and Foreign Languages University here.
Awarding the diploma certificates, Mukul Sangma lauded the effort of the Beaconville Training Academy for imparting various types of training to the youth of the State and the foreign students. He said, "Globalization has created a lot of opportunities before the youth and it poses challenges to the teachers and researchers to equip themselves with the right kind of knowledge and skills so that they can fit in the job markets."
