Mokokchung, August 30 (MExN): Nineteen functionaries of the Indian National Congress (INC) in Mokokchung district have tendered their resignation from their posts, responsibilities and primary membership of the party, citing dissatisfaction with the state of affairs within the party.
In a resignation statement dated August 30, the group said the decision was taken in view of the “dismal state of affairs” of the Congress in Mokokchung district and Nagaland. The signatories also said they saw “no future in the Congress party under the present leadership” and announced their resignation en masse with immediate effect.
Among those who resigned were four booth-level agents (BLAs) attached to the 25th Mongoya Assembly constituency, while 11 were listed as INC members with party membership codes. The remaining four were identified as members of the Longjang unit. The resignation covers functionaries associated with the Mongoya and Longjang areas of Mokokchung district.
