27th Loyem Memorial Trophy: Khulio King FC sets up final clash with Nyenshen FC

Tuensang, October 24 (MExN): A slushy ground and low visibly could not hold back Khulio King as they thumped DEF Tuensang 6-1 in the 2nd semi-final of the ongoing 27th Loyem Memorial Trophy at Loyem Memorial Ground, Tuensang. 

With this Khulio King is a strong contender to dethrone defending champions Nyenshen FC when they meet for the finals on October 26.  

Despite momentary intervention of play due to slushy ground, Thursday’s match saw pacy attacks from both teams, their fighting spirit not dampened by light rain and poor visibility.

However, Khulio King proved to be stronger side, opening their account in the 26th minute with Shurhosol to open the goal floodgates.

Longkhoi, one of the contenders for the golden boot found the net twice in the 30th and 41st minutes to take the lead to 3-0 till half time. 

Another star performer Kekhrie scored a brace in the 53rd and 61st minutes. Yemjonh of DEF managed to pull back one in the 65th minute but the fight was already lost by then. 

Unfazed, Khulio King added one more goal in the 83rd minute through Benjamin, and completed their domination. 

Meanwhile, the final match of the tournament will be played on October 26 while three exhibition matches will be played on Friday.
