2nd Hornbill Badminton C’ship 2019 ends

Kohima, December 7 (MExN): The 2nd Hornbill Badminton Championship 2019, held under the theme, ‘Artistry in Motion’ concluded today, with Unil Kumar and Purnima, both from Manipur, emerging as the champions of Men’s and Women’s singles respectively. 

Kumar defeated Ritesh of Assam in the finals while Purnima defeated Angita, also from Manipur.

A total of 142 players took part at the Championship, which  kicked off on December 4.

The total prize money was Rs 3.05 lakh besides non-cash prizes. The shuttlecocks and non-cash prizes were sponsored by Victor India.
