DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 4 (MExN): Dimapur Police has arrested seven persons, including two juveniles, in connection with the abduction of one Prabhu Prasad on September 2. The victim was successfully rescued during the operation, according to a press note from the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur.
The case began when Rahul Jaiswal, a resident of Old Sewak Road, lodged a written FIR reporting that his father, Prabhu Prasad, had been abducted by one Amith Hussain Barbhuiya. Based on the FIR, a case was registered at Dimapur West Police Station.
During the course of investigation, the duty personnel of West PS along with the Special Operation Team (SOT), Dimapur, arrested the accused Amith Hussain Barbhuiya from Apple Inn, Eros Lane, on September 3. Following interrogation, the accused provided further information that led the team, along with IR personnel, to Lotovi village area where the victim was rescued.
At the site, six additional accused were apprehended. The Dimapur Police identified them as Pukhaho, Captain-NNC/FGN (36); Don H. Swu, Secretary-NNC/FGN; Akavi Chishi, President-NNC/FGN (38 years); and Amith Hussain Barbhuiya; along with two juveniles. The two juveniles were handed over to the Juvenile Police Officer and forwarded to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) for further necessary action.
