The three day long 2nd All Nagaland Open Badminton Championship under the aegis of Crescent Club, Kohima concluded here today.


Altogether, 110 participants took part in the championship, which started on October 24.


In the open category, for men’s double final, Riku Khape and Zhakou beat Zuchapemo and Kilangkumba 21-16, 22-20 in the final to take the title.


In the mixed doubles final, Zhakou and Chubanungla earned a hard fought victory over Ankur S Rai and Ekumyala making a comeback in the second set by 17-21, 21-11, 21-7 to win the title.


Both the winners for each category walked home with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 and runners-up with Rs. 10,000.
Angam Shaiza and Nochet defeated I Temjen & Beizo Solo 21-18, 21-12 in the 85+ men’s doubles final.


For 95+ men’s doubles category final, I Temjen & Nochet overcame Arep & Molong 22-16, 15-21, 21-10.
Both the winners of the categories received Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.


In amateur men’s double, Limatemsu and Temjen of United Shuttlers Dimapur outplayed Chathavizo and Neiphrezo Ciesotsu 22-20, 21-5 in the final match. The winners and runners up were awarded Rs. 10,000 and 8000 respectively.
