Ahthibung, November 4 (MExN): The District Administration, Peren under the initiative of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, organized a one-day seminar on “Drugs & Substance Abuse” at Government Higher Secondary School, Ahthibung on November 4. 

Veineinem Singson Haolai, Miss Nagaland 2014 and Miss North East Jewel Queen 2016, graced the occasion as the guest speaker, stated a DIPR report. Veineinem Singson Haolai, who is also a member of the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland and an advocate for social causes, addressed the gathering on the growing menace of drug and substance abuse and its adverse effects on individuals, families, and society. She encouraged students to make responsible choices, practice self-discipline, and value their lives by staying away from harmful substances.

Speaking on behalf of the staff and students, Paolenmang Hmar expressed gratitude to the guest speaker for her presence and inspiring the youth through her positive influence. She also gave the welcome address.

The programme was chaired by Veineilhing Chongloi and the vote of thanks was delivered by Chichano Ngullie, Principal of GHSS Ahthibung. As part of the programme, a prize distribution ceremony was also held for the painting and slogan competitions. 

The winners of the Painting Competition were - Lamgougin Singson (Class 12); Jangmin (Class 12); and Neipineng Singson (Class 12) respectively, while the winners of the Slogan Competition were Hoipilhing Jasmine Singson (Class 10); Tingneilhai Sitlhou (Class 12); and Neisy (Class 10) respectively.
