Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) has mourned the demise of former Minister Dr TM Lotha.
In a condolence message on Friday, APO President Dr Kepelhousie Terhüja stated that Dr TM Lotha had “set various examples of talents and dedicated his life in the service of the people.”
The news of his demise has caused the APO to lament and mourn the loss of a man of true quality whom people of Nagaland look upon as a veteran in all spheres, the message read.
His good gestures and valuable services towards the community and the society will never be forgotten, the APO said as it conveyed condolences to the family and paid tribute to the departed soul.

In a separate message, the Lotha National Workers of the NSCN (IM) eulogized Dr TM Lotha as a “great human being and an astute parliamentarian and distinguished gentleman.”
Dr TM Lotha who started out as a student leader and social worker, joined Nagaland Health Service in 1977 as an Assistant Surgeon and served the department in various capacities before resigning as Assistant Civil Surgeon in 1986.
Thereafter, he joined active politics and marked his presence in the political arena of the state by successfully contesting the State Assembly Election of 1989, 2003 and 2013. He held the portfolio of Housing and Fire Service, Home, Medical and Treasuries and Accounts, Relief and Rehabilitation respectively during his political carreer.
His passing leaves a huge void for the political ecosystem, public life and a great loss not only for his family but also for the Nagas in general and the Lothas in particular, the message read.
Further, the NSCN (IM) Lotha National Workers conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
