AR organises volleyball matches at Phek, Tuensang & Medziphema

PHEK, DECEMBER 27 (MExN): The Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted a friendly volleyball tournament at Phek on December 23. A total of nine teams including a team of Phek Battalion participated in the tournament. 

All participating teams took oath for a fair play game. The final match was played between the Jericho-II (Phek Town) and Tehephu Youth Sports Association (Tehephu village). The event concluded with thanks giving song, presentation of medals and prizes to the Winning and Runners up team. 

Meanwhile, the Tuensang Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) also organized friendly volleyball match with local youth of Changlangshu Village on December 24. 

The friendly match was played to propagate the theme on “Sports Friendly NE” which is a initiative being conceptualized by Assam Rifles for the overall benefits of the local youth and primarily to inculcate sporting spirit in the youth. The match was played between Changlangshu Village and COB Changlangshu. 

Medziphema Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) also conducted their friendly volleyball match with youth of Zubza December 23.  The teams participated with full enthusiasm fostering positive sportsman spirit. The youth expressed their appreciation for the effort taken by  Assam Rifles for organizing the match and maintaining a close and harmonious relationship with the local populace. A total of 30-35 locals alongwith GB and Chairman witnessed the match.
