The 48th Angami Sports Association (ASA) wrestling meet 2020 will take place on February 12 to 13 at Khuochiezie, Kohima Local Ground.
Top wrestlers from ASA’s four constituent units— Chakhro Sports Association, Northern Angami Sports Association, Southern Angami Sports Association and Western Angami Youth Organisation will vie for the coveted champion title.
Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and Er Kevisekho Kruse, Chief Engineer (Retd), PHED will grace the meet as the special guest and guest of honour respectively.
Viswema Youth Organisation will manage the ground.
Senior category will take place on the first day. On the second day, under 16 Naga wrestling event will be introduced for the first time in the history of the ASA wrestling meet.
The inaugural function will start at 9:00 am.
The function will be chaired by ASA general secretary Vilekho Bio while ASA president Viliehu Nguzhü will deliver the presidential address.
ASA wrestling Secretary Khrielakuolie Suohu will administer oath to the wrestlers.
Kezhalelie Keretsü will be the chief judge, while Nagaland Wrestling Referee Board will look after referee and belt binders.
Meanwhile, the final list of wrestlers along with one photo passport must be submitted to ASA latest by evening of February 11.
All junior wrestlers must submit documents for age proof by evening of February 11, according to ASA.
