Bank of Baroda Zonal Office was inaugurated by the bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Dr Debadatta Chand, in the presence of Executive Director Beena Vaheed, Zonal Head for North East States Shiba Pada Nayak, and other senior officials.
GUWAHATI, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): Bank of Baroda on December 5 inaugurated its new Zonal Office in Guwahati, which will oversee operations across all North Eastern states as part of the bank’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the region and enhance administrative efficiency.
The Zonal Office was inaugurated by the bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Dr Debadatta Chand, in the presence of Executive Director Beena Vaheed, Zonal Head for North East States Shiba Pada Nayak, and other senior officials.
Dr Chand said the North East holds “strategic and cultural significance” for the country, adding that the bank remained committed to deepening its engagement in the region and enabling inclusive growth and development.
Executive Director Vaheed said the new zonal structure would help improve operational agility and governance, making services more accessible and responsive to the needs of the region.
As part of its social outreach, the bank distributed clothes, food items and essential supplies to special children at Kalyanai Niwas and Ashneer Home in Guwahati.
A total of 1,486 Bank of Baroda staff currently serve the North East through 197 branches and three regional offices, with around 61 per cent of the branches located in rural and semi-urban areas.
The bank said the new zonal office reinforces its commitment to foster financial inclusion and sustainable growth across the North Eastern states.
