Basic Intelligence Course kicks off at Group Centre CRPF Khatkhati
Basic Intelligence Course participants from 10 Battalions of Upper Assam and Barak valley, Cachar District and 03 Battalions of Arunachal Pradesh.
Khatkhati, January 20 (MExN): The opening ceremony of one-month Basic Intelligence Course (SL 5) kicked off today at Group Centre, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Khatkhati Range campus in Karbi Anglong.
The course is organized under supervision of Darbara Singh Bians, DIGP, CRPF Range HQ, Khatkhati and under the aegis of Shudhakar Upadhyay IGP, CRPF Operational Sector Jorhat. Among others, 10 Battalions of Upper Assam and Barak valley, Cachar District and 03 Battalions of Arunachal Pradesh are taking part in the course.
A press release from the DS Bians informed that the course is basically aimed “to improve the intellectual prowess of security personnel working in Sector Supervisory Team, Range Field team and unit Intelligence Cell.”
“Intelligence is a part and parcel of any successful operation and timely and appropriate information play a vital role in prevention of crimes and other Anti-National activities in order to maintain peace and tranquility in the area and to uphold constitutional supremacy,” it said.
The objective of the course is to sharpen the thinking and analytical ability of the trainee participants, so that they can also achieve excellence in their career progression as well as striking capability at “enemy forces within the country and outside,” it added.
The release further maintained that the course will “surely equip these trainees to become the ‘Ears and Eyes’ of CRPF and contribute immensely for ensuring and securing the peaceful and violent free north east region which encompasses very great and rich cultural heritage of this great nation.”
It would also provide appropriate space and place in the in larger “public interest to thwart any evil design of enemy force and upheld constitution of India, it said.
According to the release, the current course is the first intelligence course of the year 2020 and third under the supervision of DIGP Bains. It is also the first under the guidance of IGP Upadhyay after his assumption of charge of the sector considered " sensitive and hectic area mainly due to its strategic and geographical location,” it said.
The CRPF Ops Sector Jorhat is one of the largest operational Sector of the CRPF which is looking after the entire area of upper Assam district, Cachar and Barak valley districts and including state of Arunachal Pradesh, it added.
The sector has been successfully dealing with the very “sensitive issue of National Register of Citizen (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) which had origin from state of Assam,” the release maintained.
Tactful and successful handling the situation has resulted in all the Paramilitary Forces deployed for Law and Order duties in its Jurisdiction area dealing with the issue “intelligently and professionally resulting in total normal Law and Order scenario, though there are strong undercurrents, “it added.
The release attributed the same to able leadership of IGP Upadhyay.
