BEE announces painting competition

Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Union Ministry of Power, is organising the School, State, and National-Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2026 for school students across the country.

In Nagaland, the state-level competition will be conducted in two categories: Group A for students of Classes V, VI, and VII, and Group B for Classes VIII, IX, and X. The designated themes for the competition are "Save Energy at School and Home" and "Energy Conservation is the Key to Energy Security."

Schools across the state have been instructed to conduct the preliminary competition at their respective institutions and submit the top two paintings from each group, along with the participating students' details, to the State Nodal Officer by October 27, 2026. 

Following the initial evaluations, 50 shortlisted students from each group will compete in the state-level painting competition scheduled between November 14 and 21, 2026. The top three winners from both groups will qualify to represent Nagaland at the National-Level Competition on December 11, 2026.

At the state level, winners in each group will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 50,000 for the first prize, Rs 30,000 for the second prize, and Rs 20,000 for the third prize, along with ten appreciation prizes of Rs 7,500 each.

At the national level, the first, second, and third position winners will receive cash awards of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 50,000, and Rs 30,000 respectively, accompanied by laptops and medals. In addition, appreciation prizes of Rs 15,000 along with tablets will be presented.
