Bharat Gaurav Train between Rana Pratap Nagar and Kamakhya

Maligaon, January 5 (MExN): Indian Railways has launched a Bharat Gaurav Special train (Train No. 00968) to promote tourism, connecting Rana Pratap Nagar and Kamakhya. This unique journey, aimed at enhancing cultural heritage and tourism, commenced on 3rd January 2025 and will conclude on 9th January 2025.

The train, departing from Rana Pratap Nagar, reached Kamakhya at 14:25 hours on 5th January. During its journey, the train will make two-day halts at key tourist destinations, allowing passengers to explore various cultural and historical sites. It will then depart from Kamakhya at 17:15 hours on 7th January, returning to Rana Pratap Nagar at 22:15 hours on 9th January 2025.

Train No. 00968 will travel through notable railway stations such as Berach Jn., Ajmer Jn., Madar, Jaipur Jn., Agra Cantonment, Etawah Jn., Govindpuri, Prayagraj Jn., Varanasi Jn, Pt. DD Upadhyaya Jn., Patliputra, Barauni Jn., Katihar, New Jalpaiguri, New Coochbehar, and New Bongaigaon. The train comprises Sleeper class and AC-3 tier coaches to accommodate tourists.

This initiative is in line with the Government of India’s initiatives “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” and “Dekho Apna Desh.” The Bharat Gaurav Special trains offer an economical and immersive travel experience, especially beneficial for residents of North Bengal and surrounding states who can visit multiple destinations within a single trip.
