Bishop of Nagaland visits St. Joseph Chumukedima

Dimapur, November 4 (MExN): Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, the Bishop of Nagaland made his maiden visit to St. Joseph School, Chumukedima on November 4, 2011.  A press note issued by Rev. Fr. Loyola Antony, St. Joseph School Chumukedima stated that a colourful function organized by the staff and students of the School, the Bishop was accorded a warm welcome to the School as he is the head of this institution.
Speaking at the occasion, the Bishop advised the students to study hard and extended his best wishes to the class 10 students. Quoting from the Book of Sirach, the Bishop also said, “A nation that has no vision will perish. Likewise, a person without an aim in life also will never prosper.” He further thanked the Management and the faculty for their hard work in shaping the school to be one of the best in the whole state of Nagaland.
Expressing the sentiments of the parents, the public of Chumukedima as well as the members of the School Management Board, Razouvotuo, Adviser to the Chumukedima Town Council cum Member of School Management Board, said, “Dear Bishop your very presence itself is an assurance to the public of Chumukedima that you are still concerned with the growth of the people of Chumukedima.” He further extended his full cooperation in the future and said, “I on behalf of the public of Chumukedima would like to assure you that we will extend our full cooperation and support in future in order to make St. Joseph School, Chumukedima the most premier school in and around Chumukedima.”
The note stated that earlier, Rev. Fr. Sabu Chenackal, Principal, welcomed the Bishop, the members of the School Management Board and the parents as well to the function. The programme was given added colour by the various items presented by the students. It may be mentioned that Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil was ordained as the third Bishop of Nagaland on September 8, 2011 and thus has shouldered the great responsibility of leading the Catholic Church in Nagaland.
