Blood donation, HIV&AIDS awarenesscreated at Pranab College

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 27 (MExN): The Red Ribbon Club of Pranab College, in collaboration with the college Students’ Union and Department of Sociology, organised a “Blood Donation Camp-cum-HIV &AIDS Awareness Programme” at the college campus on Friday, in partnership with Blood Centre, District Hospital Dimapur, and DISHA.

The programme was chaired by Olivia J Kikon, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology. The welcome address was delivered by I ImkongakumAo, convener of the Red Ribbon Club.

A session on blood donation was conducted by resource person DrArihant Jain, who highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged students to come forward to save lives.

This was followed by a presentation from DISHA chairperson Tanu Jain, who spoke on HIV &AIDS awareness and urged youth to abstain from risky behaviour. She emphasised preventive measures, causes and the social responsibility of building a healthy and informed society.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by SeiboyKhongsai from the Department of Sociology. A total of 24 students donated blood during the camp, reflecting active participation and enthusiasm among the college students.
