Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): Hoto I Swu of BBA V Semester emerged champion at the 8th C-Edge College Public Speaking Championship 2026, held at the GK Auditorium of C-Edge College on September 15.
Swu won the final with his speech on “The Other Way Around.” Ningthuiliu, also of BBA V Semester, was adjudged first runner-up for the speech “Just This One,” while Mughakivi of BBA V Semester secured second runner-up with “The Art of Quitting.”
The other finalists were Zakali of BA III Semester and Sneha Dey of BBA V Semester.
According to a press release from the college, participants underwent a two-week training programme focusing on speech structure, vocal delivery, stage presence and confidence before competing in the championship.
The competition began with preliminary qualifiers, followed by a pre-final evaluated on articulation and content, from which five finalists were selected for the final.
The Public Speaking Championship is an annual major college event sponsored by Principal Emeritus Dr Chubatola Aier, the release added.
