CCPRA promoting peace through art

Kohima, November 4 (MExN): The Clark Centre for Peace Research and Action (CCPRA) a ministry of the Clark Theological College today organized an evening of music, drama and song under the theme ‘Promoting Just Peace through art’ at the Chakhesang Baptist Church Kitsubouzou.
Welcoming the audience, the Principal, CTC informed that while the primary task of the college is to extend theological education in the region, it also has several important ministries one of which is the CCPRA. While imploring for prayer and monetary support, the Principal stated that so far people have been very supportive of the various college ministries; he also said that the CCPRA especially has huge prayer support from people in various parts of the world.
Akumsungla Aier while introducing the theme said that the CCPRA is an attempt to recapture and rediscover the Naga practice of storytelling. Stating that songs and dramas were a powerful medium for recapturing values, she added that the CCPRA is using ‘art’ as a creative route to reconciliation and forgiveness.
It may be mentioned here that the CCPRA is two years old and it was a collective effort of the Clark community and its supporters to reflect and respond to the need for peace-building in the North East India and the world at large.
The evening was marked by spectacular performances of songs and drama by CTC students, O.F.F, choreography by KBYF, Power faith and Nagaland Singing Ambassadors. The event partners were Kohima Baptist Youth Fellowship and Local Churches in Dimapur. Promotional partner for the programme was Yi while The Morung Express was the media partner. The group will be performing again on November 6 at the Dimapur Ao Baptist Church at 5:30pm.
