CHK Observes 2011 general session

Azo urge Chakhesang community to stand united

Kohima, November 14

Speaking on the occasion of 2011 general session of Chakhesang Hoho Kohima as guest speaker at Jubilee Hall, Chakhesang Baptist Church, Kitsubozou, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, Minister for Health & Family Welfare asserted that Chakesang as a community should come as one united family. He stated that irrespective of the differences in party, political ideology and party principles, they should stand together on community issues.
He also exhorted the gathering by saying that it’s a high time for the Chakhesangs to build a strong unity for the larger interest of the youngsters. He advised the gathering to stop playing the blame game and start concentrating on collective efforts.
He said that no one is perfect therefore if any enmity arises, one should settle it without taking it further and readily give up so that unity prevails among the fellow Chakesangs.
Stressing the importance of present context specially Chakhesang people living in Kohima, Nienu said,  it was a big achievement that Chakhesang Hoho could bring out Census today which is no doubt the long desired dreams of all. Touching on the role of electoral process, Nienu reminded the Chakhesangs to be very vigilant adding that due to some shortcomings committed by some pioneers he said, they have lost one seat in state assembly.
CPO President Sovenyi in his greetings also urged the chakhesangs to preserve the aged-old traditions and cultures of the forefathers. He said Chakhesangs were hard working people but the spirit is slowly and gradually degrading.
The day dignitaries included, Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare and Women Development-Chotisu Sazo, MLA & Advisor, Art & Culture, Science & Technology and NRE-Deo Nukhu, Chairperson, Nagaland State Women Commission-Sano Vamuzo, Retd. ADGP-M.Veyie, Ex-Minister-N.Theyo, Ex-MLA-W.Krome etc
A new emblem of the Hoho was also approved on the day. The change of nomenclature was endorsed to the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) for final approval. Guest speaker Azo Nienu, released the Chakhesang Hoho Kohima Census containing the population of approximately 10,000.
The gathering also paid respect to Late .Lechotsie Lasuh, CHK President by observing silent prayer for the departed soul. Rev. Dr. Thupu-o Nyekha invoked God’s blessing for the session, Sekhotalu Dawhuo presented a solo, Rasipra and friends presented a folk tune, General Seceraty Vezuhu Keyho gave secretary report, Treasurer Razukhru Vasa proposed vote of thanks and a closing prayer was pronounced by Rev. Khrotso Mero.
CHK elects new official team for the tenure 2011-2014
During the one day long general session of Chakhesang Hoho Kohima (CHK) a new team of Executive Council was selected.
