Kohima, January 13 (MExN): The 28th wrestling meet of the Chokri Area Wrestling Association (CAWA) will take place at Thenyizumi village Ground on January 21.
MLA Khriehu Liezietsu will grace the occasion as the special guest while Zhothisa Dawhuo, Director, Nagaland State Lotteries will be the guest of honour.
The meet will witness prominent wrestlers like Venuzo Dawhuo, Vevohu Swuro, Vetuhzo Dawhuo, Pfusato Tetseo, Thepukhoyi Swiiro, Besühveto Cümu, Vekuyi Medeo.
CAWA president Zazhota Dawhuo and general secretary Besuta Swuro extended invitation all well wishers to witness the tournament.
The meet will witness seven wrestlers each from Phusachodu and Kikruma, five each from Thenyizumi, Chesezu and Thipuzu, four each from Khulazu Bawe, Khulazu Basa and three each from Chetheba, North Kikruma and Chikri Nasa.
The champion will receive a cash prize of Rs 80,000 sponsored by the hosting village (Thenyizumi village).
The first runner-up will win a cash prize of Rs 60,000 sponsored by Advocate Veswupoyi Theyo, 3rd prize- Rs 50,000 sponsored by Thejongoyi Theyo, proprietor, Theyo Gas Agency, Chetheba and 4th prize- Rs 40,000 sponsored by CAWA.
Veswusayi Kezo, deputy secretary Nagaland Civil Secretariat will be the chief patron of the meet.
Other patrons include; Vekhoto Thisa section officer Nagaland Secretariat, Sekho Dawhuo, District Child Protection Officer (Wokha), State Child Protection Society, Samuel Kapuh, District Child Protection Officer (Mon) State Child Protection Society, Vezhoduyi Thisa, Thenyizumi village, Vezhoto Zango, president Thenyizumi Union Kohima, Er. Sekhozo Thisa, Jr. Engineer Telecom (BSNL) and Thepukrayi Nienu, secretary Village Board Development, Thenyizumi.
Track suit for selected wrestlers will be sponsored by Dr. Vezokho Kapu, project office, Nagaland Social Welfare Board.
Chusazo Dawhuo will be the chief referee. Other referee includes; Vekhriyi Chuzho, Vechusuyi Chuzho and Potsutso Thira.
Meanwhile, business hour will be held on January 20 at Thenyizumi Community Hall at 4:30 PM.
Every unit has been requested to send two representatives for the said business hour.
