CK Nayudu U-23 Trophy: Sikkim beat Nagaland by 3 wickets

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 22 (MExN): Sikkim defeated Nagaland by 3 wickets in the Men’s U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy test match played at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima on December 22.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Nagaland scored 280 runs in their first innings. In reply, Sikkim managed to establish 30 runs lead in the 1st innings by scoring 310 in 110.3 overs.
The highlight of the 1st innings however was the superb bowling by Nagaland bowler Hopong Sangtam, who took 8 wickets.
At stumps on Day-3, Nagaland was struggling with 119/7 in 48 overs, though they managed to establish an 89 runs lead.
However on day 4 of the match, Sikkim picked up the Nagaland tail leaving them at 196 runs.
MD Saptula of Sikkim picked up 8 wickets while Harit bagged 2 wickets.
Sikkim won the match by scoring 168 for the loss of 7 wickets in 46.3 overs. Harit was their top scorer with 44 runs followed by Md Shahbaz with 37 runs
For Nagaland, Vaibhav took 4 wickets while Akavi picked up 2 wickets
Meanwhile in the Mens U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy being played at Chandigarh, the home team beat Nagaland by 167 runs.
