Medziphema, January 12 (MExN): A free surgical camp under the Chief Minister’s Mobile Operation Theatre Camp (CM-MOT), led by MLA and CM-MOT team leader Dr Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhutso, was conducted at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Medziphema, on January 12.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Rhutso highlighted the objectives, services and vision of the CM-MOT initiative. He said the programme was launched by the Governor of Nagaland to commemorate Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s 25 years as a visionary leader and aims to cover all districts of the state.
Dr Rhutso informed that Medziphema sub-division was the 22nd area to be covered under the CM-MOT. He further stated that those unable to avail services at Medziphema could attend upcoming camps at Dhansiripar, which will be the 23rd coverage area, followed by Viswema as the 24th, and Tuophema village as the final and 25th camp under the initiative.
He also clarified that the services under CM-MOT are available to non-card holders as well, stated a DIPR report.
During the launching programme, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Medziphema, P James Swu, NCS, highlighted the key initiatives of the CM-MOT and chaired the programme. The welcome address was delivered by Khrielie Iralu, Chairman, Health Centre Management Committee (HC MC), CHC Medziphema, while a short address was delivered by Thepfuselie Makritsu, President, NPF, 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency.
The programme was attended by village councils, GB chairmen, women organisations and members of the public.
The CM-MOT team comprises four doctors and surgeons, Dr Mao, Dr Lanu, Dr Kenie and Dr Ato along with four nurses, operation theatre staff, technicians, drivers and two truckloads of medical equipment.
Medical services provided during the camp include keyhole surgeries, general surgery, gynaecology, ENT and orthopaedics.
The free surgical camp will conclude on January 13.
