Conrad K Sangma encourages deprived children

Conrad K Sangma, Member of Legislative Assembly and leader of Opposition, Meghalay at Children’s Home of Refuge and Penuel Christian School premises  in New Showuba (Loyir) Village, Dimapur on Friday, November 11.
 
Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): Conrad K Sangma, Member of Legislative Assembly and leader of Opposition, Meghalaya paid a visit to Children’s Home of Refuge and Penuel Christian School, a wing of Mission Possible, an NGO, at New Showuba (Loyir) Village, Dimapur on November 11. The MLA was accompanied by Dr. WR Kharlukhi, president, Nationalist Congress Party, Meghalaya, Prof. Dr. Reuben Lyngdoh, Synod College, Shillong and Daniel, Personal Secretary to the MLA.
While suggesting the orphans and the students, Conrad K Sangma said work hard followed by sincerity so as to achieve their ambition, “always keep working hard and always keep praying,” he stressed. He encouraged the children to become bureaucrats, doctors, engineers, MLAs and Ministers as well. Sangma termed these children as very special and urged them “to never feel alone since we are always there to help you.”
Lauding the noble initiatives undertaken by the Mission Possible, the MLA said the refuge and the school is not a small initiative, but rather a very big one since these two institutions have impacted the lives of many- orphans, students, villagers and neighbouring villages as well.
Talking about the strong conviction of Yimso Yimchunger, Director, Mission Possible, Sangma said it requires a big heart and hard work to undertake such non-profit initiative, it is indeed a big achievement, he maintained and continued that “always let your action speak.” He also stated that “it is not easy to run a society like this, but where there is a will, there is a way and added that “it is a selfless service and the almighty God will bless you for this humanitarian service.”
Conrad K Sangma encouraged other people to undertake such initiative or people should try to help on their own way for the uplift of weaker section of the society.
The leader of Opposition, Meghalaya assured that he would try and help to make sure that more children should avail such services and facilities and also try to improve and make this society grow bigger in future.
Earlier, Conrad K Sangma before speaking made it clear that it was not a political visit, but rather a friendly visit. However, he encouraged that young leader like Yimso Yimchunger should join politics so as to bring about positive changes into the present society.
Yimso Yimchunger, Director, Mission Possible, while highlighting about the refuge and school, said that Children’s Home of Refuge is sponsored by Mission Possible and continued that the refuge has 32 children, a school and a prayer home.
The highlight of the programme was special songs presented by students and children and dance by Women SHG of Old Showuba Village. This has been informed here in a press note received today.
