Kohima, December 27 (MExN): The 41st Annual Sports Meet 2024 of Chüziema Youth Organization (CYO) commenced on December 26 with Mhasimhalie Matthew Yhome, president Kohima District Football Association as the chief guest.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Yhome shared his experience in football career where he completed 25 years by playing in various level as well as completed AFC C lincense coach. To be a good sportspersons, he said, one require discipline, dedication, determination, sincerity and above all God’s blessings. He urged upon the youth to avoid alcohol, tobacco and drugs. To be a good player, one should respect parents, elders, leaders, coaches, he said.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by CYO president Avituo Zatsu while CYO sports secretary Neisakholie Pienyii administered oath to the participating teams. The programme was led by CYO Vice President Vivolie Pienyii.
Meanwhile, Kesoneilie Theiinuo, ex-chairman Thizama Village Council will grace the valedictory function on December 30.
