DBHSS Wokha wins U-16 cricket tournament
Wokha, March 14 (MExN): The U-16 inter school cricket tournament 2020 organized by Wokha District Cricket Association (WDCA) concluded on March 13 at local ground, Wokha.
Altogether, 7 teams participated in the tournament and 33 players were selected for trials and coaching camp of Wokha District U-16 team, WDCA stated on Saturday.
In the final match of the tournament, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) won the toss and elected to bat. The DBHSS batsmen amassed 144 runs in 27.3 overs.
However, chasing the victory target of 145 runs in 30 overs, Regimental School was all out for 110 runs in 19.4 overs. Don Bosco HSS (DBHSS) emerged as the champion of the tournament, defeating Regimental School, Wokha by 34 runs.
Father Manuel, Principal, DBHSS was the Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony. He gave away the prizes to Micheal Murry of DBHSS, who was awarded the Best Fielder of the tournament and Renben Kithan of Regimental School, who was awarded the Player of the Tournament.
The champions were given a running trophy, certificates and cricket gears, while the runners up were given certificates and cricket gears.
