DC Tuensang urges teachers to educate illiterate elders

Tuensang, April 8 (MExN): Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society (ULLAS) training for Volunteer Teachers under the Department of School Education was held at Town Hall Tuensang on April 8.

As per the DIPR report, speaking on the training programme Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa urged the trainees to make good use of the training program by imparting basic education to the illiterate elders in village. 

Teachers are giving an important additional responsibility to educate the school dropout adult as well as illiterate elder of the village some basic education in English from all background who missed formal schooling, she said. The DC urged the participants to achieve Tuensang one of the highest literate district in the state.

Welcome address was delivered by (AE) DEO Tuensang, A. Mongtsoa while keynote address was shared by State Programme Co-ordinator, ULLAS, I. Toshi Ao. Video screening was shared by Tongjen Shio TOT EBRC Hakushang.

The programme was chaired by Supervisor, Likhumse Sangtam while vote of thanks was delivered by Supervisor DEO, R. Nokrenba Chang. The training was attended by more than 90 participants from Noksen Block, Chare Block, Longkhim Block, Sangsangnyu Block, Chessore Block and Shamator Block.
