Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) commended the tireless efforts of the Dimapur Police in apprehending 3 (Three) extortionists in Dimapur on Monday, July 18. DCCI, President, Hokivi Chishi in a press note stated that this reflects the sincerity of the police in tackling the menace of extortion which has a direct impact upon the business community and the general public. The DCCI assures to continue to extend fullest cooperation to the law enforcing agencies in this regard. Businessmen are requested to report any such extortion cases to the Grievances Cell of the DCCI.
While appreciating the State Government, particularly the Home Department for taking the issue seriously and initiating remedial measures, DCCI request the Court not to release those extortionists, but to award exemplary punishment to them as per the law of the land so that it serves as a deterrent to all extortionists.
