NEW DELHI, MAY 29 (MExN): Concerned by the growing number of job-related scams targeting youths from Eastern Nagaland arriving in the national capital, the Delhi Eastern Nagaland Students' Union (DENSU) has launched a Job Help Line as a precautionary support mechanism.
In a press statement, the Union noted that while it appreciates the determination of young individuals seeking employment beyond their home state, an increasing number are falling victim to fraudulent job offers and recruitment scams. These incidents, DENSU said, have resulted in emotional, financial, and logistical distress for the victims, while also placing a heavy burden on the Union in terms of follow-ups and interventions.
In response, DENSU has constituted a Job Help Line Committee tasked with assisting individuals from Eastern Nagaland coming to Delhi for employment. The committee will verify the source and authenticity of job offers or recruitment agencies before individuals proceed with any engagement.
“We strongly urge anyone from our community arriving in Delhi for job-related purposes to first contact the DENSU Job Help Line for verification assistance,” the Union said in the statement, adding that such precautionary steps could prevent unnecessary hardships. DENSU clarified that the Job Help Line is purely a support and verification platform. “The Union does not offer or guarantee employment of any kind,” it said.
