Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): The Dimapur Police have appealed to the public to help identify an unknown male whose body was recovered near the Zeliangrongram Village gate on Friday morning.
According to a press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) and PRO, Dimapur, West Police Station received telephonic information from the Chairman of Zeliangrongram Village at around 6:30 AM on September 4 regarding an unidentified body of a non-local male, estimated to be around 35 to 40 years of age.
A police duty party rushed to the scene and conducted an inquest over the body in the presence of the village council chairman and local youth. Police stated that no foul play was observed during the initial inquest.
Following the completion of legal formalities, the body was shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for a post-mortem examination.
The deceased was found shirtless and wearing red and cream-coloured shorts (half pant). Claimants, relatives, or friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge, West Police Station, Dimapur, at 7085055024.
