Dimapur, December 10 (MExN): A multipurpose building at Diphupar village constructed through the funding of the department of Rural Development was inaugurated and dedicated towards community service by Metsubu Jamir, Director, Rural Development, Nagaland as chief guest this morning (Saturday).
Diphupar village is one of the villages of the state which is successfully utilizing RD allocated funds for the development of the village. Construction of drainage and improvement of village roads are other aspects that the village development board and council are giving priority.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest expressed satisfaction over the success of the project which is because of proper management of fund and unity among the villagers. He said mismanagement of fund is main cause of misunderstanding and disunity that arises in a village.
The chief guest was of the view that as long as the council/village authority is strong and united there could no differences among the villagers and even churches can play an important role in the harmony of the village.
Stating that the newly constructed multipurpose building is for all the tribes living together in the village, he urged the people of Diphupar irrespective of all tribes to continue to uphold the spirit of living in harmony and tranquility and set good example to other villages.
Delivering a short speech, K. Chuba Jamir, former council chairman of the village thanked RD department for extending all possible assistance for the development of the village.
Head GB of the village, Kekhwetsu presented a brief report on construction of the building. The programme was chaired by I. Vitoshe Kinimi, Chairman, village council Diphupar.
Other departmental officials present at the programme include Visasolie Lhoungu, Project Director, DRDA Dimapur, Alemla Chishi, Programme Officer, DRDA Dimapur and Tsukti, BDO Medziphema.
