In commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India, My Bharat Wokha, in coordination with the Wokha District Administration, organised a district-level Unity March on November 4.

The march began at 7:00 am from Police Point and concluded at Mount Tiyi College, Wokha, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, government officials, and members of the public.

At Mount Tiyi College, the formal programme commenced with a flag-off rally led by ADC Wokha, Renbomo Ezung, followed by a media briefing and unity pledge administered by District Youth Officer, My Bharat, Hitesh Kumar.

The event featured a range of activities including a cultural performance by Mount Tiyi College NSS, the garlanding of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s portrait, and speeches that reflected on Patel’s enduring contributions towards national integration.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Renbomo Ezung, urged the youth to uphold the spirit of unity and collective responsibility. He reminded them that they are the torchbearers of the nation’s future and encouraged them to lead disciplined and purposeful lives, free from drugs and harmful influences.

Emphasising the vision of Mera Bharat, Ezung called upon young people to actively contribute to building a united, progressive, and self-reliant India through community service, mutual respect, and national pride.

Delivering the presidential address, Hitesh Kumar highlighted the significance of youth participation in nation-building and reiterated the importance of fostering unity across communities.

The event concluded with cultural presentations, youth speeches, and the National Anthem.
