Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) under District Mission Authority Mokokchung organized an Orientation Training Programme for parents and tutors of home based education at EBRC Mokokchung village on November 23, 2011. The programme was initiated to capacitate and enable effective care and education by the parents and tutors of the differently abled children in the district who are unable to access formal education at the schools. Parents and tutors from six EBRC attended the programme.
The District Education Officer Tekamayang in his speech called upon all those who are actively involved in imparting education and life skills to the differently abled children at home to continue to strife hard and work diligently so as to bring quality education for those differently abled children. A positive relationship and coordination between the tutors and the parents will indeed go a long way in imparting whole round education and productive life skills to the differently abled children, he adds.
Other highlights of the program included presentation on topics such as “I know I can” by Chubainla IED Co-ordinator DMA Mkg; “Special Education on BHE Children” by Wapang Walling Assistant Co-ordinator DMA Mkg, followed by discussion. The vote of thanks by Chubalepden ToT IED In charge EBRC Mkg. village and the program was chaired by yarang ToT IED In charge EBRC, kubolong. In its whole, the program served as a platform whereby parents and tutors of the differently abled children and the officials associated with this programme were reminded of the importance of such mission and to work with more commitment
and dedication.
