Says Railway recruitment process ‘a very transparent system’
Guwahati, September 20 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has advised applicants to the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) exams to be aware of touts who try to ‘misguide candidates with fake promises of appointment for jobs on illegal consideration’
“Do not to pay attention to fake news being circulated in electronic and print media. Recruitment in railway jobs is done purely on merit basis and the process itself is very transparent,” stated a press release from NFR Chief Public Relations Officer Sabyasachi De.
It further pointed out that the RRBs over the country have engaged a highly reputed company to conduct the Computer Based Test (CBT) for CEN RRC 01/2019 - Level 1 (Erstwhile Group D) recruitment in which more than 1.1 crore candidates are appearing.
Three phases of CBT have already been completed involving 12 Zonal Railways. The fourth phase has started on September 19, the release informed.
Accordingly, it maintained that various safeguards and protections are built into the system to prevent and eliminate any kind of irregularity. The allocation of the centre to candidates as well as the allocation of lab and seats after registration are also randomised, it said.
The question paper is in highly 256-bit encrypted form, and no one other than the candidate can access the question paper, it added.
The sequence of the questions as well as the options available as answers are also randomised.
It is generated through computer logic without any manual intervention, and if anyone is claiming to provide the “answer key to a candidate it is totally false, baseless and misleading,” the release said.
Besides, the exams are conducted in strict surveillance of CCTV cameras with full recording of each candidate while the Railways also deploy their own staff at each centre to monitor activities of candidates as well as staff of Exam Conducting Agency (ECA) to ensure smooth conduction of exams, it maintained.
Strict vigilance is being done by Railway Staff as well as ECAs in pre/during/post exams. As a result, a number of candidates involving in some kinds of malpractice/unfair means are being regularly caught, it added.
As per the release, the ECA invigilators are also being regularly shuffled as a preventive measure to avoid development of any nexus with candidates.
Aadhaar authentications of candidates have been introduced for the first time in Level-1 exam and being used by RRBs as an additional measure to prevent impersonation in addition to measures already in place, like capturing and verifying biometrics at each stage of the recruitment process right to the appointment stage, it added.
