Yes:
• I can say YES because our government will never do.
No:
• They can maintain the ground as a secondary but the primary responsibility should go to the requisite authorities who have the actual funds to maintain and keeps it functioning. These people should not depend on the local volunteers to keep maintaining the ground, the locals would have to use the money from out of their own pockets or trail officers, politicians for funds.
Others:
• At the end, does the department in charge use it or does the community? Just so you know the department in charge are also part of the community. Local grounds are for the use of community itself. Do you make your bed every night so the candidate you elected in election can sleep well?
• Why is there a department allotted with Minister and whole team in charge for this matters who are paid by taxpayers funds? The candidate decided he would make the bed for all his voters if he was elected so he don't need to boss around with the oath & commitment he has made to his people as a public servant after coming to power. Well as for usage of ground by community, the department itself if the head of the community who uses it… there is no go between called department or public who uses or own it.
• Okay then let's remove the state department of youth resources and sports. Let's divert the department's allocated funds to other areas like agriculture and let's terminate the minister incharge too. Why should we pay them MLA salaries and allowance if communities are the ones that should be responsible for maintenance of sports facilities.
• Heh? Local grounds? I only see desert somewhere and jungles somewhere
• Except for few Districts I don’t see any Fully Functional Football grounds in Nagaland. It is more like a Pig farm during Monsoon season. First Government should set up high standards grounds, then only the community can do its maintenance or else the question of maintenance primarily becomes invalid.
