Kohima, November 25 : Altogether, 29 institutions/departments based in different parts of India had been conferred with the prestigious e-North East Award 2011 during 2nd e-North East Award Summit 2011 –cum- North East India Digital Festival held RIELIT under the aegis of the YouthNeT Nagaland, North East Development Foundation, Department of Information Technology, Nagaland and Elysium Tech.
The award consisted of three categories- winner, jury special mention and special mention.
The recipient of the award in the category of “Winner” against the project holder, project/ practice and category included; Department of Planning, Government of Arunachal on “Complete transparency in elections using information & technology; Live telecast of election proceedings over internet” (Citizen services delivery & e-Governance), Naga web Solutions on “Hornbillfestival com (Environment & tourism), Department of health and family welfare, Government of Tripura on “Tripura Vision centre Project (Tele-ophthalmology)” (Health services delivery), C-DAC Hyderabad and CAU Arunachal Pradesh on “Model e-villages in north east India (ICT, Educational & Learning), Dristee Development & Communication Ltd “ Financial services through CSP in the rural area (ICT and finance inclusion), C-DAC Pune on “Aranya- comprehensive Spatial Decision Support system for Bodoland Territorial Areas District (Innovative department /PSU), Centre for microfinance & Livelihood on “Customization and Deployment of stand alone NGO-MIS Application (Innovative ICT/IT Enterprise), C-DAO Kolkata on “IT based computer aided design centre for empowerment of rural weavers /artisans of Sikkim, Mizoram & Manipur (Livelihood & Enterprise).
