Ukhrul | April 14 : The Third Commemoration for the certificate of Distinction to Eden Resource Home, an Orphanage Destitute Center, at Tallui Junction, Ukhrul District was observed on April 11, 2011. The Orphanage is home to 50 children and eight working staffs, and is looked after by a spiritually dedicated couple.
In the function, chief guest, KH. Leiyaphi Rita, Assistant Commissioner, Ukhrul narrated the stories of her past struggle and other life experiences. She also said that life is difficult without the loving care of mothers and fathers and she further encouraged the Children to bear the patience of life and keep the faith of God who never fails to take care eternally. The Chief Guest also donated a sum of Rs. 5,000, two bags of rice, foot-ball, and volley ball to the Orphanage.
The Guest of honour, Ningreingam Leisan SDC, Ukhrul also elaborated that all concerned Officers and people need to extend maximum efforts of assistance and helping hands jointly to the orphans in order to pave the way for facilitating rooms of better avenues to become hope in their lives. He too contributed a sum of Rs 4,000, half bag of rice and sports items. President Wungpam Kasar SDPO, Ukhrul shared the view that it is a "paramount task" to take care of 50 Orphan children, in the context of worldly duties and problems but it is in fact the work done by the grace of the Almighty God's mercy and His abundant blessings. He also contributed Rs 2,000 plus half bag of rice for the welfare of the orphanage management.
Reflecting true compassion, it may also be mentioned that Assistant Commissioner (IAS) Amstrong Pamei on September 23, 2010 along with SDC Ningreingam Leisan celebrated the IAS Officer's 26th Anniversary Birthday at the Eden Orphan Children home with participation from Ngariching Living Center (a blind Missionary home for children) jointly by celebrating the occasion with a common feast.
