Nagaland Youth Resources & Sports Advisor, Er. Zale Neikha today graced the 42nd games & sports meet of Khuzama Youth Organization (KYO) which got underway at Khuzama.


Speaking on the occasion as the special guest, Er. Neikha maintained that sports play an important role in nation building as it brings a sense of oneness and togetherness among its citizens.


He urged upon the youths to march forward, in line with the objective of the Olympic Movement and contribute to building a peaceful and better world.


Praising the veterans of the past who through their excellent sportsmanship participated at the state and national level in different field of sports, he challenged the youths of the present day to emulate them who had brought laurels to the village and the state.


“'Life is a gift from God. Therefore we are unique with special talents and skills. Everyone has a role to play and we were born to achieve something big in this world,” said Er. Neikha.


He also cautioned the youth not to shy away from doing manual work or labour, but to be sincere, creative, and become innovative.


The advisor also called upon the youth to accept the challenges in life and venture into business and contract works to sustain one's own life rather than depending on the state government for job opportunities.


Earlier, the inaugural function was chaired by KYO president Nongosa Sale while KYO advisor Vimeziho Kera delivered welcome address.


KYO games & sports secretary Puhokiil Kera administered oath to the participating teams.


Meanwhile, Khuzama VDB secretary Meyieho Kin will grace the closing ceremony on January 6.
