KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 18 (MExN): The Longleng Town Students’ Union (LTSU), in collaboration with the District Administration and the District Dobashis, carried out an extensive inspection drive in Longleng Town to check the sale of expired and substandard goods.

The inspection team, comprising officials from the administration, Dobashis and members of the LTSU, visited several shops and business establishments across the town. The drive was conducted as part of a joint effort to safeguard public health and ensure consumer safety. Goods were checked for expiry dates, labelling and storage standards.

LTSU officials said the union remains committed to protecting the interests of the public, particularly students and local residents. They cautioned that the sale of expired goods poses serious health risks and urged business establishments to maintain responsibility and comply with legal standards.

The District Administration and Dobashis appreciated the initiative of the students’ body and assured support for similar drives in the future.

The inspection team cautioned defaulters against repeating such practices and warned that strict action would be taken in accordance with the law against those violating consumer safety norms.

The joint initiative, a DIPR report said, reflects the shared commitment of civil society and the administration in ensuring a safer and healthier Longleng.
