DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 17 (MExN): Dimapur Police acting on a tip-off from reliable source, arrested two extortionists from Clock Tower area on 16th Nov 2-011 when the two were demanding under threat and intimidation a sum of Rupees One Lakh from a Computer Shop, located at Chishi Marketing Complex, Circular Road. This was informed in a press note issued by Additional SP/PRO Dimapur. The two had served the demand note of Rupees One Lakh to the shop owner on a writing pad of a SS Lt Col of Naga Army which was seized from their Possession. The arrested extortionists have been identified as (i) Zuheto Shohe (29) S/O Lozheto Shohe of Kitami Village, Pughoboto and (ii) Boto Kinny S/O Yehoto Kinny of Zathuli Village, Akuluto. A case of extortion and criminal conspiracy has been registered under relevant Sections of IPC against the accused who were forwarded to court for demand.
CAR LIFTER ARRESTED
Dimapur Police also arrested a habitual car lifter identified as Dipen Gogoi (32) S/O Dembashwar Gogoi of Sibsagar and a resident of Golaghat, Assam on 7th Nov 2011 and recovered the stolen Alto car bearing R/No. NL04C-1640 belonging to one Tojai Konyak, Deputy Angh of Tangnyu Village, Mon. the stolen vechila was recovered from Aoyimsen Village area by the inhabitants of the locality who promptly informed the police. On subjecting to body search of the arrested accused three handmade Master keys, one modified Master Key of TVS motorcycle and two mobile phones were recovered from his possession. A case has been registered in this connection and police are on the look-out for his accomplices.
BURGLAR ARRESTED
Further it was informed that the Dimapur Police arrested a habitual burglar who has been arrested and charge sheeted several times while his two accomplices managed to give the slip when the burglars were committing burglary on a automobile parts shop located at Clock Tower during the wee hours of 8th Nov 2011. The Police on receipt of information about a burglary in progress, immediately swung into action and after cordoning the area, entered the shop. On searching the shop, one of the burglars identified as Ajoy Sonar @ Raju S/O Late Arun Sonar and a resident of Chekiye Village was found hiding among the empty boxes armed with a two feet long iron rod. Accordingly, he was taken into custody and the implements used to commit the offence seized from his possession. Police are on the look-out for his accomplices who have been identified. A case was registered in this connection.
