Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton on Saturday hailed the unanimous passage of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) Bill, 2026, in the state assembly, as a major step toward addressing the long-standing demands of Eastern Nagaland through a constitutional framework.
Patton, who moved the Bill in the House, said its passage is an “important step” towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Eastern Nagaland through an agreed framework within the State of Nagaland.
The Dy CM in a press release acknowledged the contributions of the Government of India, the state government, the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO), and all stakeholders who engaged in the consultative process. He also thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, cabinet colleagues, and all members of the legislative assembly for their collective approach and cross-party support.
Patton called upon all sections of society to continue working together in a spirit of understanding and cooperation for the peace, progress and unity of Nagaland.
