Dimapur, November 5 (MExN): “Having received tremendous response for the auctioning of teams, the management of the Nagaland Premier League (NPL) after much speculation has now revealed the format for the qualification into the league,” stated a press note received here today. The 10 slots for teams to be inducted into the inaugural NPL have been divided elaborately. From the 10 earmarked slots, 2 slots will be awarded to the districts of Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung - out of the 2 given slots one will be auctioned off to the highest bidder and the other will be given out on the basis of merit to the three districts. The remaining 4 slots (out of 10) will be open to public auction. The highest bidder will have the discretion of blocking the district slot (other than the first 3 districts of Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung) and thereafter that particular district will remain under their representation. The last day for registration is November 9, 2011 and the auction dates has now been set on November 16, 2011.
