Zunheboto, November 13 (MExN): Ghokimi village on November 12 celebrated Ground Nut festival at Ghokimi Local Ground under Pughoboto Sub Division, Zunheboto.
In a update from DIPR, it stated that the festival was organised by Ghokimi village council.
MLA Dr Sukhato A Sema graced the festival as the special guest. In his address, Sema stated that it was a great honour and joy for him to grace the Ground Nut festival.
Sema said that the festival was not just about crops, but it was about the story of our people, adding that the festival reminded us that prosperity comes not only from the soil but also from the heart which honours God.
He also encouraged the general public to extend connection with government schemes that supported small scale food processing, storage and marketing and form cooperative society/farmers group to collect process, package and brand Ground Nut.
Yithachu Thur, EAC Pughoboto, in his short speech, acknowledged the ground Nut farmers of Ghokimi Village for their extraordinary contribution in the field of organic farming particularly the organic ground Nut cultivation and for promoting the sub division in the field of agriculture.
Welcome address was delivered by K Vishepu Assumi, VCC, Ghokimi Village, while vote of thanks was pronounced by GB Ghunakha Shohe, Ghokimi Village.
