Dimapur, May 5 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alezo), under the leadership of its president, Gen (Retd) MB Neokpao Konyak, and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh, has expressed grief over the demise of its Deputy Kilonser, Lisekyu Sangtam, who passed away on May 4.
He was a native of Hurong in Kiphire.
In a condolence message issued through its Ministry of Information and Publicity, the organisation described the death of its veteran member as a significant loss, stating that his life was defined by steadfast service, discipline, and quiet determination.
According to the statement, Sangtam first enrolled in national service in 1983 and later joined GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alezo) in 2023.
He remained committed to his responsibilities throughout his years of service and earned the respect of both colleagues and superiors and his conduct exemplified integrity, humility, and an unwavering sense of duty, it noted.
Beyond his service to the nation, he was a devoted husband and a loving father to his seven children, it added.
The GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alez) further stated that late Sangtam demise has created a profound void that will be deeply felt not only by his bereaved family and relatives, and the Sangtam community, but also by the Naga people at large.
The GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alez) also extended its condolences to the bereaved family, stating that his contributions and legacy would continue to inspire present and future members.
“We stand in solidarity with them and pray that the almighty grant them strength, comfort and solace to endure this irreparable loss,” it added.
