
Tuensang, September 15 (DIPR): The Hindi Diwas programme was held at the auditorium of Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang, organised by R.B. Hindi Institute Tuensang and all Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union (ANHTU) Tuensang district unit.
SDO (C) Sadar II Tuensang, Sushil Kumar Patil IAS graced the programme as chief guest. Delivering his speech, the chief guest called upon the people especially tribal belt people to come forward and learn the country’s official language ‘Hindi’ for more and easier social communication and interaction with the people of the country and assured to extend all help for the development and improvement of the programme “Hindi Diwas in the district’.
The programme was chaired by P. Singh President ANHTU Tuensang Unit who also gave an introduction on Hindi Diwas. The invocation prayer was offered by Associate Pastor YBC Tuensang, Throngji Yim while Welcome speech was delivered by I. Ayangla Chang General Secretary ANHTU Tuensang Unit. Short speech was also delivered by R.C. Singh Administrator Bethesda School Tuensang and vote of thanks was proposed by Aheli Sema Head Teacher Bethesda School Tuensang. Other highlights of the programme included patriotic song, folk song and classical dance presented by different schools.
Competitions on essay writing, dictation, handwriting and poems in Hindi was also held where various schools in the district participated. The results of the competition are as follows: From the Local standard category – In Essay competition, 1st and 2nd places were bagged by S. Neojikhong from R.P. Hindi Institute Tuensang and Tsumian from Holy Cross School Tuensang respectively. In the Poem Competition, 1st and 2nd places were bagged by Chubasangla from Holy Cross School Tuensang and Phehzim Phom from R.P. Hindi Institute Tuensang respectively. In Dictation Competition, 1st place was bagged by Euglina from St. Joseph School Tuensang and Benjonglemla, R.P. Hindi Institute School Tuensang and 2nd place was bagged by Chellium from Holy Cross School Tuensang. In Handwriting Competition, 1st place was bagged by Thelichim Anar, St. Joseph School Tuensang and 2nd was bagged by T. Meri, Bethesda School Tuensang.
From the Non-Local standard category: In Essay Competition, 1st place was bagged by Puja Sharma from Akum Imlong School Tuensang and 2nd place was bagged by Sanu Kumari from Baptist Thangyan School Tuensang. In Poem Competition, 1st place was bagged by Toushis Rasool, A.R. School Tuensang and 2nd place was bagged by Somesh Das, Akum Imlong School Tuensang. In Dictation Competition, 1st and 2nd places were bagged by Sapna Dep, St. Joseph School Tuensang and 2nd Yishal Singh A.R. School Tuensang respectively. In Handwriting Competition, 1st place was bagged by Garung Pradap Singh, St. Joseph School Tuensang and Mt. Mubarak, Akum Imlong School Tuensang and 2nd place was bagged by Anchal Kumar, A. R. School Tuensang and Payal Kumari, St. Xavier School Tuensang
Prizes were also distributed along with citation certificate to all the winners in the competition by the chief guest. The programme was concluded with National Anthem by the participants.
