Niuland, March 5 (MExN): A basketball court was inaugurated at PM SHRI School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Niuland, on March 5, marking a step towards strengthening sports infrastructure and youth development in the institution.
The facility was inaugurated by Hamanka Boruah, Regional Head of ICICI Bank, in the presence of representatives from ICICI Bank and the ICICI Foundation.
The programme began with a formal welcome, followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony and a ceremonial first shot by the chief guest, symbolising the official opening of the basketball court.
Students marked the occasion with a cultural programme showcasing music, rhythm and teamwork.
Speaking at the event, Principal Kholi Dikho expressed gratitude to ICICI Bank and the ICICI Foundation for supporting the project under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. He said the new facility would help nurture sporting talent among students and contribute to their holistic development.
The ceremony concluded with appreciation from the gathering, with organisers expressing hope that the new basketball court would serve as a platform for encouraging sportsmanship and character-building among students.
