Karunya 31st Convocation Ceremony

Chennai, July 12 (MExN): Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Deemed to be University) celebrated its 31st Convocation Ceremony on July 12.

The ceremony was graced by the Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, who served as the chief guest. He was also was conferred with the Degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) in recognition of his exemplary public service and visionary leadership. 

In his convocation address, Lalduhoma praised Karunya as a model of faith-driven education and technological progress, urging graduates to let purpose guide their lives and to act as agents of positive change. 

The Chancellor, Dr Paul Dhinakaran, in his address, emphasided the university’s commitment to driving technological innovation and societal transformation through value-based education. He encouraged graduates to become ethical leaders and change-makers, blending excellence in their professions with compassion for the world around them. He also presided over the awarding of degrees, medals, and special honours. 

Among the Chancellor Awardees recognized for their outstanding academic and holistic achievements were Tara Ann Lukose (B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering), B. Beulah (B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering), Gethsia P (M.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering), Bartika Maitra (B.A. Criminology), and A. Reni (B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture). 

In a remarkable gesture of compassion and social responsibility, all graduating students collectively contributed to support the underprivileged, reflecting the university's strong emphasis on community service and the spirit of giving back to society.
