The Kohima District Chess Association (KDCA) today celebrated its 10th foundation day at Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) complex, Kohima.
Gracing the celebration as the special guest, Helie Rüpreo, former president and advisor, Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) congratulated KDCA for completing 10 years since its establishment in 2015.
Stating that Kohima being the district headquarter and the state capital city, he urged the KDCA to encourage other communities to take active part in the district activities.
He also felt that it will be appropriate to include members from other communities in the executive body to develop a sense of belongingness to Kohima city.
Rüpreo also stressed on cultivating transparency and accountability at all cost to maintain legacy of integrity and honesty. Further, he challenged KDCA to tap young potential players by organizing coaching and tournaments specifically to school children during holidays.
Visanyüzo Kuotsu, founding president and advisor KDCA also delivered short speech. The programme was chaired by KDCA advisor Kedihoto Puro while Ruokuongulie Chüpuo invoked God’s blessings.
KDCAS president Vizosielie Khoubve delivered the presidential address while KDCA joint secretary Mhasizolie Metsieo presented a special number. NCA honorary secretary Vekukho Soho also present on the occasion.
