KDFA announces player registration drive

Kohima, February 28 (MExN): The Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) has announced that new registration and renewal of registration for players will be conducted from March 5 to March 31, 2026.

The registration is open to players aged 7 years and above. Interested players may contact the General Secretary, Viliebeizo Liezietsu, at +91 8575794606 for further details.

The announcement was made by the President following a coordination meeting held on Saturday at 2K Hotel, Kohima.

Addressing the gathering, KDFA President Mathew Yhome introduced the newly formed team and informed that official player ID cards will be introduced and distributed to all registered players. He stated that KDFA is preparing a squad for the upcoming Nagaland Super League (NSL).

The President further informed that KDFA will organise a district tournament to prepare and select players to represent the Kohima district team in the Dr T Ao Trophy, the Nagaland Super League, and other upcoming tournaments.

Players were encouraged to approach the KDFA office whenever necessary for support or clarification.

The programme was chaired by KDFA vice president (admin) Ruopfü Meyase, with invocation by Senior vice president Khriengulie Rio. The presidential address was delivered by M Mathew Yhome. The yearly plans and programmes of KDFA (2026) were presented by GS Viliebeizo Liezietsu. Press Secretary Medolenuo Loucü spoke on the Nagaland football scenario, while Finance secretary Metekhrielie Mejura gave a preview of the Kohima District Football Team (2022–25).

The discussion hour was led by Technical Director Kevilebei Zashümo, followed by a session on expectations from players by executive member Vizovor Liezietsu.

Contributors were given three minutes each to share their views, and the vote of thanks was delivered by vice general (Gen) Azho Sophie.
