Khrielabeituo Semou today was crowned champion of the 65th Nerhema Wrestling Meet 2020 organized by Nerhema Youth & Sports Organization (NYSO) at Nerhema village, Kohima.
He won a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 sponsored by Luomhalie Rülho.
Kelhousetuo Sere was second and awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 sponsored by Shürholhoulie Rutsa.
Dziesekhrietuo Kerhüo and Nekhrievozo Kerhüo finished third and fourth and pocketed Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5000, sponsored by Rükravolie Rülho and Selabeituo Theünuo, respectively.
In junior category, Viphretuo Rülho, Vimhalie Chadi, Keneichütuo Semou and Kikruvilie Kengurüse stood 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions, respectively.
Earlier, gracing the inaugural function as the special guest, Neiketouzo Kengurüse, PS to Chief Minister Nagaland said that wrestling as a sports has vast scope at the national as well as international levels.
While calling for dedication, he urged the youth to give sincere effort for excelling in wrestling.
Kengurüse also told the youth to value and respect their parents and elders for a successful and dignified life.
Earlier, the inaugural function was chaired by NYSO vice president Vilhousielie Kengurüse while NYSO president Nouvilie Rülho delivered presidential address.
Acknowledgement to the dignitaries was done by NYSO finance secretary Khrielatuolie Pienyü while NYSO games & sports secretary Thekruneisa Rülho administered oath to the wrestlers.
Later, Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) treasurer Kevipusa Kezhie-o graced the closing ceremony. The function was chaired by NYSO general secretary Neilhouvolie Chatsu while chief judge Lhoukhozolie Kiewhuo announced list of players selected for the forthcoming NASA C. Vote of thanks was proposed by Kereisielie Pienyü.
