Imphal | December 30: Amid festive mood with the New Year celebrations being virtually started, the banned KCP (MC) has imposed a 'public curfew' across Manipur starting from 5am of December 31 to 5am of January 2, saying all kinds of festivities will be banned during the course of the curfew. The militant group in a statement on Friday said 'public curfew' has been called to stop celebrations of the New Year which include picnic, intoxication and all kinds of entertainment which give rise to immoral activities in the society.
However, it said patients, water supply, electricity, ritual service, education and the media will be relaxed from the purview of the curfew. The Kangleipak Communist party (KCP) MC group also warned that anyone who fails to pay heed to the party will be the sole responsible for himself/herself when it takes up action for the act he or she commits against it. The KCP (MC) further warned the intending candidates in the coming general election not to use and misguide youths of the State by providing them drinks and drugs.
